YEAH! School's out for summer! OWW I think I hurt something there. I forget I'm getting old. Why hasn't anyone posted anything and where in the world is Lani? I can't believe she hasn't posted anything. Anyways, just wanted to say Hi to everyone and see what summer plans we have. Did we decide to get together during the summer or not? I hope so, I can't wait to see ya'll again. Well, I am going to continue my "School's out for summer" dance. Later Congloms.
Love,
Bella

Happy Mother's Day!!

Hi everyone! I thought that I would wish you ALL a happy Mother's Day. This will be the first mother's day for you Lila. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Thought I would share a picture of some of my husbands peacocks with you guys. This is a picture someone sent to me over the internet, my husband has about 15 or so of these. Right now, we have peacock, actually the correct term is Peafowl, eggs in an incubator. They will take about 28 days to hatch. Belinda said that she didnt think I would marry someone like a farmer. I think that I knew I would, or at least a gentleman, but also, someone who can easily shoot the head off a snake at 100 feet (I think I will save that story for later). I also put a picture of my dog Caramel. She is a crazy little dog. She is with my mom in Crystal City since I am allergic to her. That is my baby. I am making you see mine since I have seen all of yours. Hee. Hee.

Still the same
Great job Dr. Menchaca on the blog! And Lila, why did you have to make me cry? My makeup looks horrible and my face gets all red and blotchy. It was wonderful to get together and talk aka LAUGH!!!.
I see Lani and Tree a bit more frequent and just recently reconnected with Michelle and Lila, but as the title of the blog say, things are still the same. We have gone on and become "adults" (I use the term loosely as I will never be fully grown up) and even parents and yet everytime we get together, whether its 2 or 3 or 4 of us, I feel like we're right back at the Lake: carefree and fancy free. I love you guys, I really do, and like I said on Saturday, the reason we don't feel awkward with each other no matter the distance or time apart, is that we truly are sisters in spirit and heart. Congloms forever!

Sappy message from Lila
Virginia, Great job on the Blog!
To all of the gals,
It was so good to see all of you Saturday night. Thinking back to that night, I couldn't help but feel so sentimental. I admired each of you so much, as you have all turned into such amazing individuals. Little did I know that a deciding at 17 years old to follow a crazy guy to Texas would impact my life forever...
Through all of the places that I have traveled/lived and of the many people that I have been fortunate to meet, the Congloms are the ones with whom I feel the most comfortable. You are women who have suffered like me in our own personal battles and strife, yet continue to be wonderful and special individuals. I considered each of you my benchmarks; each with a unique quality or trait that inspires me to be a better person:
Virginia - The Righteous and Noble One, who reminds me of how a generous and giving person should act.
Michelle - The Glamourous Mom with an Honest Heart, who shows me that you can still be beautiful on the inside and outside.
Teresa - The Patience One (yes, you are considered Patient to me) and Most Sincerest Person--who can juggle so many things and kids, but still be so grounded and down-to-earth.
Belinda - The Rock...the one with a strong sense of self and best of all, the person who can make the most somber person smile a million times in two seconds. She had shown me not to take myself too seriously!
Lani - The Thoughtful and Creative Lady, who thinks of the little things and keeps us connected. She reminds me that it is the simple things that make us great women and moms.
Yvette - Even though we couldn't see her on Saturday, I am sure she is still a bundle of energy (she has to be) and person with a big heart.
I know this is a bit sappy, but for some reason, I needed to write about it. Even though we all have separate lives and may not be in constant contact, I do miss all of you and hope we are friends forever. BFF!!! (Trying to keep up with the "texting youngens" these days).
Love,
Lila

Things that make you go Hmmm!
Michelle couldn't believe that we have known each other now 18 years. When I see the picture I want to sing "The wheels in the sky keep on Turning." You know, the song by Journey. There I go showing my age again. I hope she doesn't get upset. She still looks exactly the same, actually no, even better.

One Side of the Table
Oh, fertile one! It's Tree!! Happy 29th Birthday!!
Teresa in her beautiful pregnancy glory. Thank god your having a girl since I just can't shop for boys! Well, this fruitless pear tree thinks that it is great you are on your fourth. We wanted four and even had all the names picked out. It will be a new color palette that you will see in your wash. Just keep the white underwear out of the pink loads.
The other pic is you Teresa and Michelle cutting the yummy cake that Lani brought. Thanks so much Lani. You were always so thoughtful in that way.

More Conglom Reunion Pictures
I decided that the fastest way for everyone to have access to the pictures would be to put them up on this blog. I know that I won't be able to send them to all of you for a while so I decided to upload them here. Love that we got together and I didn't care that you all talked about kids. At least I could relate to it, in a one step removed pediatrician-kind-of-way. This pic is of Lani and Lila, as always punctual and the first two to arrive.
The Conglom Reunion--Saturday, May 5th 2007
Maybe it was because all the planets in the world lined up this one day but nearly all the congloms were able to get together for a small reunion on Saturday. This seemed to be a feat in itself--with some of us--o.k. one of us being pregnant, and many others busy with life, work and children.
It was great seeing Belinda after 18 years. The last time I got to see her was the day we graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University. She is crazy as ever and still as beautiful. Bel, you haven't changed a bit! Michelle, looked great and tan. It almost makes me wants to go out in the sun! Almost!! I remember having a tan in 4th grade--I didn't look that great so I guess I will stay my pasty, pale self. Last time I saw Michelle was 15 years ago. And in only the most positive sense, You haven't changed much at all either. Still beautiful, petite and funny. We love our friend from Honduras!!!
Now, the three others that made it were Teresa, Lani and Lila. These great ladies traipsed through snow in February 2004 for my wedding. I always knew that it would be a cold day in hell before I got married and damn, but didn't it snow!! Looking back on how I feel about those years in East Texas--it was a snow day in hell!! That is the last time I saw you guys. Since then, Lila has become a beautiful mom and she has kept her long, gorgeous hair. That is something I vow to do. (My other promise to myself if we do have kids, is try to keep my size 7 foot. I don't care if I have to tape them.) Lani is continuing to be the best Mary Kay Consultant and Silpada Jewelry Consultant. She also has two gorgeous kids.
Last but not least is Teresa, aka Tree, aka Mother Earth, i.e. the womb most fertile. She is pregnant with her fourth child and (lets put are hands up in the air and sway from side to side) it's her first daughter!!! I predict that she will whip those big brother's of hers into shape once she is here. God help them. All the boys that is. She is going to be beautiful, funny and smart just like her mom. Since her aunty is a doctor, I will make sure the fertility doesn't kick in like her mom's just yet. Hee. Hee.
Unfortunately, there were a couple of people who were missing and funny enough they were both roommates at Pacelli Hall. I can't remember their room number. 217? (Lila and I were in 227? or 229? I will have to ask her.) Yvette is down in the valley. Sorry we missed you both. Hopefully, we will catch you at the next conglom reunion.
I am going to try really hard to figure out how to post our pictures. I am no guru at this stuff so I am just winging it.
